MyOwnConference as a GoTo Webinar alternative, what is the difference?
GoTo Webinar is a name most buyers in this category already know, and for many of them it is the benchmark others are measured against. The comparison turns on something you notice before you reach any feature list, which is how much of the price you are allowed to see.
Checked against GoTo's own pricing page on 1 September 2026. Their published figure is in United States dollars, ours in euros, so the two are not directly comparable without a conversion on the day.
The short version
GoTo Webinar is the better fit if you need certified training, paid events, AI summaries or an established name your procurement department already recognises. We are the better fit if you want to know the price before you talk to anyone, if your audience is small, or if you would rather not buy a seat per organiser.

One price out of three
Open their pricing page and you see three plans. Reach carries a figure, at $69 a month or $59 billed annually for up to 500 participants. Elevate and Complete carry a button that says Contact Us.
That is a deliberate sales model rather than an oversight, and it works for organisations with a procurement process and a negotiating position. It works badly if you are trying to budget, because the moment your audience passes 500 you no longer know what the platform costs.
Every price we charge is on our pricing page. A 20 attendee plan is €22 a month, 500 is €110, 1,000 is €275, and a single day for 20 attendees is €11. Above 2,000 we do ask you to talk to us, but by then you know the shape of the curve you are on.
What a seat means
GoTo's entry plan includes one organiser seat. An organiser is the person who schedules and runs the webinar, so a second colleague who needs to host means a second seat. Their published plan buys 500 attendees for one person to talk to.
We do not sell seats. Adding a colleague to the account is free, there is no limit on how many you add, and that holds on every plan including the free one. Each one gets their own login, and you tick which areas they reach, so one person can manage webinars while another handles attendees and neither of them touches billing.
The number our plans actually charge for is a different one, and the two are worth keeping apart. What grows with price is how many speakers are on camera at the same time, from two on the smaller plans to twelve on the larger ones.
Set against the published figures, that is the difference between paying for 500 seats that one person may address, and paying €22 a month for a room of 20 that your whole team can take turns hosting. How the switches work and where the section lives is set out in sub-user accounts.

Time on air
Neither of us publishes a cap on how long a single webinar may run, which makes this one of the few comparisons on this site where we are level. Our plans state it explicitly, and GoTo simply does not mention a limit.
One boundary is worth naming on our side, because it comes from the calendar rather than from the plan. A scheduled webinar is a single entry in a day, so it cannot be set to run past twenty-four hours. A permanent room carries no such boundary, because it sits on a link that never changes and stays open around the clock, on every plan including the free one. A session meant to run for days therefore belongs in a room rather than in the calendar.
What we do cap is the recording, at 20 minutes on the free plan and 10 hours on paid plans. GoTo puts cloud recording on the middle plan, so on the entry plan you record locally.
Where GoTo Webinar is genuinely better
- Certified training and paid events. Certificates, source tracking and selling seats are built in on the upper plans. We sell seats through your own PayPal account and issue no certificates at all.
- AI summaries and transcripts. They ship them from the middle plan. We ship none, and that is a decision rather than a gap. We would rather not put a machine between a presenter and an audience, and real time transcription is still costlier and less accurate than working on the recording afterwards. If you need it today, they have it and we do not.
- Breakout rooms. On their middle plan. We have none.
- Recognition. A name an IT department already knows is worth something real in a procurement conversation, and ours is not that name yet.
- A bundled meetings licence on the top plan, where we do not sell meetings separately at all.
Where we are genuinely better
- You can see what everything costs, without a sales call.
- A free plan that never expires, where they have none.
- A far smaller entry point. Our plans start at 20 attendees, where their entry plan starts at 500 and charges accordingly.
- Automated webinars on every plan, including the free one, where their simulive sits on the middle plan.
- A single day for €11, with no subscription.
- Data in the European Union, and billing in euros from a European company.
- Features that do not move between tiers. Branding, landing pages, polls, tests, the whiteboard, call to action banners and the full analytics set are on every plan here, including the free one.
- A firewall that blocks UDP does not cost you the webinar. Browsers carry live video over UDP, and corporate security rarely allows it. Alongside the browser route we run our own broadcasting protocol, which is not WebRTC, needs nothing beyond TCP port 443 in most cases, and switches on by itself in every room. The traffic goes down the path your firewall already keeps open, so there is no ticket to raise with IT. On a weak line the same transport can be taken over by hand with a downloadable plugin, and broadcasting from a corporate network explains both routes.
Which one to choose
Choose GoTo Webinar if you need certificates or paid events, if AI summaries matter, if breakout rooms are part of how you teach, or if your organisation buys software through a procurement process where a quote is normal.
Choose MyOwnConference if you want the price before the conversation, if your audience is well under 500, if more than one colleague hosts sessions, if you run occasional events and would rather pay by the day, or if EU data residency has to be a default rather than a question.
Frequently asked questions
How much does GoTo Webinar cost, and which plans have a published price?
One of the three does. Reach is published at $69 a month, or $59 a month billed annually, for up to 500 participants. Elevate and Complete carry no price and ask you to contact sales, so the cost above 500 participants is not something you can look up. Every price we charge is on our pricing page, from €22 a month for 20 attendees to €275 for a thousand.
How many organiser seats does the GoTo Webinar Reach plan include?
One. An organiser is the person who schedules and runs the webinar, so a second colleague who needs to host means a second seat. We do not sell seats at all, so you can add as many colleagues to the account as you like, free, on any plan, each with their own login and their own permissions. The plan limits only how many speakers share the camera at once, from two to twelve.
Does GoTo Webinar issue attendance certificates, and does MyOwnConference?
GoTo does, on its upper plans, alongside paid events and source tracking. We issue no certificates at all. If certified training is part of what you deliver, that is a genuine reason to choose them over us.
Does GoTo Webinar include a meetings licence?
On the Complete plan, which bundles a GoTo Meeting licence. We do not sell meetings as a separate product, though every plan here includes instant meetings alongside scheduled webinars, on the free plan too.
